How much are the elopement packages?
Prices vary somewhat depending on a variety of factors. A deluxe package typically costs between $1,500 to $2,500 depending on the accommodations and the restaurant chosen. Time of year is a factor, also, since Charleston is a big vacation destination. If budget is a concern, let us know and we will create a package to meet your needs.
Are other packages available?
Yes. We gear each package to your needs and wishes. Tell us what you would like and we will be glad to quote a price. We'll do our best to work within your budget.
We are planning to visit Charleston and already have accommodations booked. Can we still plan an elopement?
Yes. Just let us know which elements you would like to include and we'll quote a price.
We're local and just want a quick ceremony. Can you make the arrangements?
That's fine. Just call and we'll set it up for you. Be sure to bring your marriage license. No ceremony can be performed without a marriage license issued by the state of South Carolina.
Do we need a South Carolina marriage license?
Yes. However, you can apply for and pick up the marriage license anywhere in South Carolina. If you're coming from out of state, it is usually best to obtain the license in Charleston. If you live near the border, you can apply at the nearest county probate court. There is a 24-hour waiting period before you can pick up the marriage license. Some counties
Where are the ceremonies held?
You may have your wedding ceremony at one of downtown Charleston's beautiful parks. Permit requests must be filed a minimum of three weeks prior to the wedding date. Popular spots are Whitepoint Gardens, the Waterfront Park, Hampton Park, the Angel Oak and Washington Park. Special venues include the Thomas Elfe House, Hagan Fine Art and the Heart Garden.
Beach ceremonies are very popular. There is usually no cost for a beach venue. We perform weddings on Folly Beach and the Isle of Palms.
What restaurants are offered for the wedding dinner?
Naturally, you want some place special. 82 Queen is classic Charleston and a popular choice. Charleston has many other wonderful places to eat. Just let us know what kind of food you prefer and we'll find the right place. Fresh seafood abounds but there are also choices for vegetarians.
We'd like to have pictures.
Absolutely. We have several photographers who have a creative eye and ability to capture the moment. In addition, they all know the area and are familiar with the local parks and where the best spots are on the beach.
Can I wear a wedding gown?
Of course. It is your day and you should wear anything you want. But consider that you might want something shorter for the beach. During the summer sundresses are perfectly acceptable.
What about flowers?
We work with a wonderful florist who will try to accommodate your wishes. We offer a small basic bouquet as well as larger ones.
What vows are offered?
We offer a variety of vows. You can keep it simple or add special readings to personalize your vows. Your vows should reflect your personality. We will work with you to create a perfect ceremony.
